Welcome to the Summer 2024 Northern California Teaching Center Meetup, hosted this year is hosted by the Center for Teaching & Educational Technology (CTET) at Sonoma State University.
This event was initiated in 2023 by the UC Berkeley Center for Teaching & Learning.
In hopes of expanding both the reach and the participation in this event, we have partnered with the CSU Chancellor's Office Innovative Teaching & Learning (ITL) programs as a sponsor to help foster intersegmental and hopefully private/public campus partnerships around faculty development for teaching and learning.
Based on feedback collected after the first year's event, we are organizing this to provide more opportunities for networking, learning about each other's programming, and providing for collaboration around topics of mutual interest. Please see below for additional details.
Event Registration
Please RSVP for the event. There is no charge to participate, and we welcome you to send this page to your colleagues attention as we do not believe we have representation across all potentially interested campuses in the region.

Call for Proposals
- Morning Presentations: We are looking to host 3-4, 30-minute presentations on successful programs, events, or other interventions that teaching centers have led in the past year. These sessions will be available via Zoom for remote-only participants as well as those attending in-person. If you would like to present, please consider submitting a brief (5-10 sentence) statement describing: the Program Name, a description of what made it successful, and why other teaching centers might benefit from learning about it.
- Afternoon Collaborative Workshops/Conversations: We are also looking to host 2, 50-minute collaborative workshops, both to help participants get to know each other as well as solicit opportunities for folks to collaborate on topics of interest in the community. We would like you to suggest workshops or roundtables that you could lead that would benefit other teaching centers and that have an active component that will encourage attendees to work with people they may not already know. Because of the nature of this portion of the program, we expect these will be in-person only sessions. If you are interested in leading a collaborative workshop, please consider submitting a brief (5-10 sentence) statement describing: the Workshop Title, a description of the session, and how attendees will work with people from different teaching centers as part of your session.
For your consideration, topics of interest suggested by teaching centers earlier this spring included for this event included: Accessibility, AI, Teaching Center Evaluation and Advocacy, Diversity/Equity/Inclusion in the Classroom, Hybrid Program Development, Online & Distance-Education Program Development. The deadline for submitting these is June 7. Please submit all proposal ideas via the Event RSVP form.
